Description
This Creamy Lemon Garlic Chicken Pasta is the perfect mix of zesty lemon, savory garlic, and tender chicken tossed in a rich, creamy sauce. It’s quick enough for a weeknight dinner but fancy enough to serve to guests.
Ingredients
-
8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced thin
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
1/2 cup chicken broth
-
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
-
Optional: red pepper flakes for a kick
Instructions
-
Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Stir in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
-
Lower the heat and add heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
-
Add lemon zest, then return the chicken to the skillet. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
-
Toss in the cooked pasta and mix until everything is well coated.
-
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
-
You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter version.
-
Add spinach or peas for a pop of color and extra nutrients.
-
Great with grilled shrimp instead of chicken for a seafood twist.
