This creamy chicken garlic parmesan pasta is the perfect comfort food! Tender chicken breast is cooked in a rich, cheesy garlic sauce and tossed with pasta for a quick and satisfying meal. It’s simple enough for a weeknight dinner, but tasty enough to impress guests.
Ingredients
-
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 cups heavy cream
-
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
1/4 cup pasta water (reserved)
-
Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Cook the pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
-
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. Cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
-
Add the cooked pasta and chicken back into the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce. If needed, use the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
-
Serve warm, topped with chopped parsley and extra parmesan if desired.
Notes
-
You can use rotisserie chicken to save time.
-
Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra veggies.
-
Swap heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
