Description
These crispy cream cheese wontons are a delicious appetizer or snack, filled with a creamy, savory filling and fried until golden brown. They’re easy to make at home and taste just like your favorite takeout!
Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

24 wonton wrappers

1 egg, beaten (for sealing the wrappers)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions

In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.

Brush the edges with beaten egg. Fold the wrapper into a triangle or bring all corners up to form a pouch. Press edges to seal.

Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

Fry wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
Notes

Make sure the oil isn’t too hot to avoid burning the wontons.

These can be made ahead and frozen before frying.
