Description

Classic Ambrosia Salad is a sweet and creamy fruit salad made with marshmallows, whipped cream, and a variety of colorful fruits. It’s a refreshing, easy-to-make dish perfect for potlucks, holiday dinners, or as a side dish to your favorite meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) pineapple chunks, drained

  • 1 can (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup whipped cream (or whipped topping)

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)

  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained and halved (optional)

 

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the drained pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, and mini marshmallows.

  • In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream and whipped cream until smooth.

  • Gently fold the whipped cream mixture into the fruit mixture until everything is well combined.

  • Stir in the shredded coconut, cherries, and nuts if using.

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

 

  • Serve chilled and enjoy!


Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of whipped cream and sour cream based on your preference for sweetness and creaminess.

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt.

 

  • Feel free to add other fruits like bananas or grapes for variety
