Ingredients
For the Apple Filling:
-
6 cups apples, peeled and sliced (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
-
2 tbsp lemon juice
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
For the Cinnamon Roll Topping:
-
1 can (about 12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
-
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
-
3 tbsp butter, cold and cubed
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
-
In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
-
Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Cut each roll into quarters. Set icing aside.
-
In a medium bowl, mix the quartered cinnamon rolls with flour, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Use your fingers or a fork to create a crumbly topping.
-
Sprinkle the cinnamon roll mixture evenly over the apples.
-
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
-
Let cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle the reserved icing over the top.
-
Serve warm—great on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Notes
-
You can use homemade cinnamon rolls if you prefer.
-
For extra crunch, add 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping.
-
This dessert is best eaten fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
