Description

These Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are a delicious no-bake dessert made with crispy rice cereal, marshmallows, and rich chocolate for a fun and easy sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly using a greased spatula or wax paper.
  7. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Krispie mixture and spread evenly.
  9. Allow to cool at room temperature until the chocolate is set, or refrigerate for quicker setting.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean-up.
  • Try adding peanut butter to the melted marshmallow mixture for extra flavor.
