Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Noodles
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
Optional Garnishes
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- Prepare the chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking. Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Butter the noodles: Using the same pot that cooked the noodles, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat thoroughly with butter. Adjust salt to taste.
- Serve: Plate the buttered noodles and top with sliced chicken. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired for extra flavor and color.
Notes
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to the noodles for a flavor boost.
- For a shortcut, substitute with cooked rotisserie chicken instead of cooking chicken breasts from scratch.
