Description

A quick and healthy chicken and broccoli stir fry with a savory sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • 1 medium head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, cornstarch, and water to make the sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Return the chicken to the pan and pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil, sprinkle sesame seeds on top, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, you can add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This stir fry can be served with rice or noodles for a more filling meal.
  • You can substitute the chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
