Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 9 lasagna noodles
Cheese Mixture
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Other Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 3 cups Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups fresh spinach (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna.
- Cook Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside to cool.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a small bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper; mix until smooth and well blended.
- Layer Ingredients: Spread 1/2 cup of Alfredo sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange 3 noodles over the sauce. Add one-third of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the shredded chicken, a handful of spinach if using, 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 1/4 cup Parmesan. Drizzle with 1/2 cup Alfredo sauce.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the previous layering two more times, ensuring each layer is evenly spread to create three total layers of noodles and fillings.
- Top and Cover: Finish by spreading the remaining Alfredo sauce on top and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
- Bake Covered: Bake the lasagna covered with foil for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Rest: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow it to set for easier slicing.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish the lasagna with chopped parsley before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken to save time on cooking and shredding chicken.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or steamed broccoli for additional flavor and texture.
- For a richer and more flavorful sauce, prepare homemade Alfredo sauce using fresh garlic and cream instead of store-bought.
