Description

Cherry Delight is a no-bake, creamy layered dessert featuring a crunchy graham cracker crust, smooth cream cheese filling, and a sweet cherry pie topping. Perfectly chilled, this refreshing treat is easy to prepare and serves as a delightful dessert for gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Filling

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks (or 8 oz whipped topping)

Topping

  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust:
Combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Place the crust in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to chill and set.
  2. Make the Filling:
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined. Gently fold the whipped heavy cream into the cream cheese mixture until the filling is smooth and fluffy without deflating the whipped cream.
  3. Assemble the Dessert:
Remove the chilled crust from the refrigerator and spread the cream cheese filling evenly over it, smoothing the surface with a spatula. Next, carefully spread the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, ensuring an even distribution.
  4. Chill and Serve:
Cover the assembled dessert and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the layers to set properly. When ready to serve, slice the dessert into squares and enjoy chilled.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for a smooth filling.
  • You can substitute the cherry pie filling with other fruit pie fillings for variety.
  • For a lighter version, use whipped topping instead of heavy cream.
  • This dessert should be stored covered in the refrigerator and consumed within 3 days.
