Description

Caramel Apple Slices are a fun and easy treat made by dipping crisp apple slices into rich, buttery caramel and topping them with various toppings like nuts, chocolate, or sprinkles.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice apples into 1/2-inch thick wedges, removing seeds.
  2. Dip apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning and pat dry.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel candies and heavy cream.
  4. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until caramel is smooth.
  5. Dip each apple slice halfway into the melted caramel and let excess drip off.
  6. Place on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles if desired.
  7. Let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to set, or refrigerate for faster setting.

Notes

  • Use firm apples for best results.
  • Insert popsicle sticks into apple slices for easier handling, if desired.
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
