- 1 cup soft caramel candies
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)
Instructions
- Wash and slice apples into 1/2-inch thick wedges, removing seeds.
- Dip apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning and pat dry.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel candies and heavy cream.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until caramel is smooth.
- Dip each apple slice halfway into the melted caramel and let excess drip off.
- Place on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles if desired.
- Let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to set, or refrigerate for faster setting.
Notes
- Use firm apples for best results.
- Insert popsicle sticks into apple slices for easier handling, if desired.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
