Description
Campfire Apple Pie Packets are an easy and delicious outdoor dessert made with sliced apples, warm spices, and a buttery crumble topping, all cooked in foil over a campfire.
Ingredients
- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup granola or crushed graham crackers
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Aluminum foil sheets
Instructions
- Preheat campfire or grill to medium heat.
- In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Place a handful of the apple mixture in the center of a sheet of aluminum foil.
- Top with pieces of butter and a spoonful of granola or crushed graham crackers.
- Fold the foil over the mixture and seal the edges to form a packet.
- Place the packets on a grill grate or directly on the coals.
- Cook for 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally, until apples are tender.
- Carefully open packets (watch for steam) and serve warm.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results.
- Packets can be prepped ahead of time and stored in a cooler.
- Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
