Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour the batter onto the center. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crisp.
- Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings like butter, syrup, or fresh fruits.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the waffles tender.
- Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes for fluffier results.
- You can freeze leftover waffles and reheat them in a toaster.
