Description

These Breakfast Sliders with Sausage, Egg, and Cheese are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch option. Featuring savory sausage patties, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese layered inside soft slider buns, they make a satisfying handheld meal perfect for busy mornings or casual gatherings. The sliders can be made ahead and reheated, with optional toppings like jalapeños, bacon, or hot sauce for added flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 breakfast sausage patties (or 1 lb bulk sausage, shaped into patties)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese), halved

Egg Mixture

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Optional Toppings

  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Cooked bacon
  • Hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
  2. Cook the Sausage Patties: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patties for about 3–4 minutes on each side until they are browned and fully cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined and slightly frothy.
  4. Scramble the Eggs: Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook gently, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are just set and fluffy. Remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer the scrambled eggs evenly over the buns, then add the cooked sausage patties on top. Place the halved cheese slices over the sausage, and finally cover with the top halves of the buns.
  6. Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the sliders are warmed through.
  7. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the breakfast sliders warm. Add optional toppings like sliced jalapeños, cooked bacon, or hot sauce if desired.

Notes

  • You can make these sliders ahead of time and refrigerate them. Reheat before serving for a convenient breakfast option.
  • Try using croissant rolls or mini bagels instead of slider buns for a different texture and flavor.
  • For extra flavor, add sautéed peppers or onions to the egg mixture before scrambling.
