Description

These Blueberry, Strawberry, and Carrot Balls are nutritious, no-bake dog treats made with wholesome fruits, veggies, rolled oats, and natural peanut butter. Perfect for training rewards or special snacks, they combine fresh berries and shredded carrots into bite-sized balls that dogs will love. Easy to prepare and healthy, these treats avoid harmful ingredients like xylitol and can be customized with other dog-safe fruits.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • ½ cup chopped strawberries (hulled)
  • ½ cup finely shredded carrots
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1–2 tablespoons water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Process Oats: In a food processor, pulse the rolled oats until they resemble a coarse flour, which will help bind the ingredients together for the dough.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add the blueberries, chopped strawberries, finely shredded carrots, natural peanut butter, and ground flaxseed to the food processor.
  3. Form Dough: Blend the mixture until it comes together into a thick dough. If the mixture feels too dry or crumbly, add water one tablespoon at a time, blending after each addition, until the dough sticks together easily.
  4. Shape Balls: Scoop out small portions of the dough and roll them between your hands to form bite-sized balls, suitable for dogs.
  5. Chill: Place the formed balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow them to firm up properly.
  6. Store: Keep the treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze them for longer storage to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Always use xylitol-free peanut butter as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
  • These treats make excellent training rewards or special snacks to spoil your dog.
  • You can substitute other dog-safe fruits such as banana or apple if desired.
