Description
Tender and juicy grilled ribs with a flavorful smoky crust, perfect for BBQ gatherings or summer cookouts.
Ingredients
- 2 racks of pork baby back ribs (about 4-5 lbs total)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 300°F) and set up for indirect grilling.
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
- Wrap the ribs in foil and place on the grill away from direct heat. Close the lid and cook for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, carefully remove the ribs from the foil and brush with apple cider vinegar and BBQ sauce.
- Return ribs to the grill over direct heat and cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping and basting with BBQ sauce until caramelized.
- Remove from grill, let rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with extra sauce.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches at least 190°F for tender ribs.
- Letting the ribs rest helps redistribute the juices for better flavor.
- Customize the rub by adding your favorite spices or herbs.
