A hearty and flavorful burrito packed with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic Mexican flavors, perfect for a quick dinner or satisfying lunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 large flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning mix and water to the beef. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Stir in diced onions, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Warm the tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet until pliable.
  5. Spoon beef mixture into the center of each tortilla.
  6. Top with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, salsa, and a dollop of sour cream.
  7. Fold the sides of each tortilla in, then roll up tightly to form burritos.
  8. Optional: Heat burritos in a skillet or oven until the cheese is melted and the outside is lightly crisped.
  9. Serve warm with extra salsa or guacamole if desired.

Notes

  • You can add rice or beans for extra filling.
  • Use low-fat cheese and sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Make ahead and freeze for easy meal prep.
