A hearty and flavorful burrito packed with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic Mexican flavors, perfect for a quick dinner or satisfying lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 large flour tortillas
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning mix and water to the beef. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in diced onions, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Warm the tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet until pliable.
- Spoon beef mixture into the center of each tortilla.
- Top with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, salsa, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Fold the sides of each tortilla in, then roll up tightly to form burritos.
- Optional: Heat burritos in a skillet or oven until the cheese is melted and the outside is lightly crisped.
- Serve warm with extra salsa or guacamole if desired.
Notes
- You can add rice or beans for extra filling.
- Use low-fat cheese and sour cream for a lighter version.
- Make ahead and freeze for easy meal prep.
