Description

These BBQ Beer-Marinated Chicken Skewers are a perfect summer grilling dish. The beer marinade infuses the chicken with a tender texture and delicious flavor, while the BBQ glaze adds a smoky, sweet kick. Easy to make and sure to impress at your next BBQ!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into cubes)

  • 1 cup beer (lager or pale ale works best)

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, whisk together the beer, olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and stir to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for more flavor).

  • Prepare the Skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  • Assemble the Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.

  • Grill the Chicken: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Brush with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of grilling.

  • Serve: Remove the chicken from the skewers and serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

  • You can substitute the chicken breasts with chicken thighs for a juicier option.

  • Adjust the BBQ sauce amount depending on your desired sweetness and tanginess.

  • Serve with grilled vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
