Description

This homemade air fryer beef jerky is tender, flavorful, and way easier to make than you’d think. No dehydrator needed—just your trusty air fryer! Great for snacks, camping, or a protein boost on the go.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (top round or flank steak), thinly sliced against the grain

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for smoky flavor)

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

Instructions

  • Slice the beef into thin strips, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. For easier slicing, freeze the beef for 30 minutes beforehand.

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.

  • Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

  • Remove beef from marinade and pat dry with paper towels.

  • Place strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they don’t overlap.

  • Set air fryer to 180°F (82°C) and cook for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through. Cook time will vary based on thickness—check for desired texture.

  • Let the jerky cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use lean cuts of beef for the best jerky (fat can cause spoilage).

  • Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.

  • Add liquid smoke to the marinade for extra smoky flavor.
