4th of July Rice Krispie Treats are festive, colorful, and easy-to-make snacks featuring red, white, and blue layers—perfect for Independence Day celebrations.

- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, divided
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 6 cups mini marshmallows, divided
- Red food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)
- Non-stick spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch pan with non-stick spray or butter.
- In a large pot, melt 2 tbsp butter over low heat. Add 2 cups marshmallows and stir until melted. Add red food coloring and stir to desired color. Mix in 2 cups cereal until evenly coated.
- Press red layer into the bottom of the prepared pan, using a greased spatula or wax paper.
- Repeat the process with 2 tbsp butter, 2 cups marshmallows, and 2 cups cereal for the white layer (no food coloring). Press gently over the red layer.
- Repeat again with 2 tbsp butter, 2 cups marshmallows, and 2 cups cereal. Add blue food coloring and mix well. Press on top of the white layer.
- Sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles while still warm, if using.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares or shapes.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for more vibrant layers.
- Do not press layers too firmly to keep treats soft.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
