Description

Crab Rangoon is a crispy, creamy appetizer made with a delicious filling of crab meat and cream cheese, all wrapped in a wonton and fried to golden perfection. These bite-sized treats are a crowd favorite and perfect for parties or takeout-style dinners at home.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 6 oz lump crab meat (or imitation crab), chopped

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 24 wonton wrappers

  • Water (for sealing wrappers)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)


Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  • Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.

  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it into a triangle or pinch all corners together to form a pouch. Press the edges to seal.

  • Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until hot (about 350°F/175°C).

  • Fry the wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

 

  • Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.


Notes

  • You can bake or air fry these instead of deep frying for a lighter version.

  • Make sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent the filling from leaking.

  • Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
